A statement issued by the Assistant Registrar (Academic) of the polytechnic, A.O. Yahaya, on behalf of the Registrar, also said that the school had withdrawn a Higher National Diploma (HND)student of the Department of Estate Management from the school for allegedly making a false claim in respect of her National Diploma (ND) certificate.
The statement said the expelled students suffered the fate after the Governing Council of the of the institution approved the report of the Academic Board on the alleged malpractice.
According to the statement, 30 of the affected students were from the Institute of Finance and Management Studies (IFMS), 10 from the Institute of Basic and Applied Sciences (IBAS), three from the Institute of Technology (IOT), while the remaining two were from the Institute of Environmental Studies (IES).
The statement said the affected students had ceased to be students of the polytechnic and asked them to stay away from the institution and not to take part in any of its activities.
It directed the students to hand over any property of the institution in their possession to Head of their respective departments or any other appropriate authority and leave the campus forthwith.
The students withdrawn on account of allegedly making false claim about her ND certificate was also accused of unruly behaviour.
The statement also said that the decision to withdraw her was taken after the management considered report of the Students Disciplinary Committee on her matter.
